Once the enamel is shining again, all the components are replaced and the outside including the dials and controls are given a final polish and detail.
-
Your oven can be used immediately after the clean.
How long does the cleaning process take?
On average it takes about 2 hours to throughly clean and detail an oven. Often our clients will opt to also get the hotplates and rangehood cleaned at the same time so a typical job can take up to about 3 hours. The job is finished when the oven has been meticulously cleaned.
How much does it cost to get an oven cleaned?
The price to get your oven professionally cleaned will vary depending on the size of the appliance. A small single oven which is approximately 600mm wide will be $195, if it has a separate griller or an additional half oven the price will be a little more. Ovens like Miele, AEG, and Westinghouse often fall into this category.
The next size up is usually a 900mm wide oven - typically an Italian make like an Ilve or Smeg, and these are often free-standing. The price to thoroughly clean these is $235.
Cooktops and rangehoods are often incorporated in the clean and these items are an additional charge to the oven.
We always like to find out exactly what size your oven is before quoting a price, so contact us and we will be able to give you an accurate price which is all inclusive with no hidden extras.
What cleaning products do you use to clean ovens?
All the cleaning products used are non-toxic and eco-friendly. They are safe to use in your home and will not harm you or your beloved pets. They are gentle on your oven and cooking surfaces, leaving no residue whatsoever. The main products used comprise the following:
-
Degreaser - we use a commercial grade degreasing liquid which is water-based and packs a punch in cutting through grease and grime. Combined with various tools of the trade, scrubbing cloths and elbow grease, the inside of your oven will be sparkling bright in a flash!
-
The oven racks, side supports, oven trays, back panel and even the light bulb covers are removed from the oven and soaked in a custom made stainless steel dip tank mounted securely in the truck. The solution in the tank is a high grade degreaser which when heated literally strips off burnt on carbon deposits and has the chrome shining in no time.
-
Once everything is clean and detailed, the final step is to polish the inside of the oven to a shine including all the racks and trays. A quality stainless steel polish completes this process along with a glass cleaner so that you can admire your shiny good-as-new oven without even having to open the door!
Any tips on how to keep my oven clean?
This is a question we get asked many times! Of course if you never cook in the oven, it will stay as clean as the day we cleaned it, but after a while you'll be over take-aways and hunger pangs will strike!
These are some things you can do inbetween getting a professional clean in order to keep your oven functioning well:
-
Spills are most easily wiped away before they harden and become baked on. Obviously wait until the oven has cooled down and it's always advisable to turn off the power to the oven before attempting to clean inside it. A damp micro-fibre cloth works best.
-
The base of the oven often has a build up of grease and fat so try using a baking tray or a silicone rubber sheet at the bottom to catch any drips. Make sure these aren't placed directly on the base of the oven though - this includes aluminium foil which will melt into the base of the oven and be impossible to remove.
-
The use of an oven bag over the food, or some other way of covering it with a pot and lid will certainly help with splatters although may prevent it from browning.
FAQ's
1 / Are you insured?
Yes, we are fully insured and in the unlikely event that anything should go wrong guarantee that the problem will be fixed promptly and with minimum fuss.
2 / How long do I have to wait after my oven/BBQ have been cleaned?
Your oven or BBQ can be used immediately after the clean and will not smell of any toxic chemicals because non are used.
3 / Do the chemicals you use smell toxic?
The cleaning products used are non-toxic, they are fume free and no residue is left behind. The process is perfectly safe for your family and pets.
4 / How often should I get my oven/BBQ cleaned?
This obviously depends on the frequency and type of foods being cooked. On average, most clients like to book in an annual clean which ensures that the oven or BBQ works safely and efficiently.
5 / How often should I clean my range hood?
Nearly two thirds of all cooking fires start with fat, oil or grease catching fire. It is the job of the rangehood filters to catch and trap the oil and grease produced from cooking on the stovetop. If the filters are not regularly cleaned, a dangerous build-up of fats will soon line them.
6 / Do you offer a repair service?
We are specialist cleaners first and foremost and focus on what we do best. However during the cleaning process we are able to advise if something like an element needs to be replaced and can recommend specialists to carry out repairs.
